AUGUST SHORT POLL RESULTS
I got bored with the August poll half way through August so I decided to tally it now. But I actually think it was a pretty interesting result. 62 people responded. Of those 44% clicked the correct answer, a single IB exam costs $227 - ($135 registration fee & a $92 exam fee). 19% chose $92, 26% chose $135, and only 11% fell for the cost of an AP exam, $86.
JULY POLL RESULTS
After being inundated by hits from the very Liberal NYT and WAPO readers, our July Poll had 663 respondents. An astonishing 86% of them believe the IB talking point "IB teaches students HOW to know, not WHAT to know" to be brilliant. Only 12% of the respondents were astute enough to identify the rhetoric as Orwellian and 3% didn't have a clue.
JUNE POLL RESULTS
By an almost 2-1 margin of 104 respondents, 65% believed that American public schools should NOT be able to implement IB without a public vote, 33% said no vote was necessary and 2% didn't know.
MAY POLL RESULTS
The May poll results may be slightly skewed as there was an influx of IB students to the site who tried to rig the poll in favor of IB. Out of 236 respondants, 29% believe IB is indoctrination, 29% believe IB is a world class education, 17% believe IB is "rigorous", 14% believe IB is expensive and 11% believe IB is for Gifted and Talented students. APRIL POLL RESULTS
The correct answer was: Steve Forbes Goldman Sachs, the Shah of Iran, UNESCO, Bill Gates and Joe Kennedy have all contributed to IBO.
It is difficult to track when districts eliminate IB. Some districts are still in the discussion phase, some made application but never followed through. But for the purposes of this section, TAIB will try and keep pace with the number of drops which receive local press. Since March, 2009, IBO has lost 13 IBDP schools, 5 MYP and 5 PYP or a total of 23 fewer IB schools in the U.S.A. If anyone is aware of districts not listed during this period, please e-mailTAIB with the stats. Thanks!
